Practical GDPR: The Parent / Child SAR

There can be few more complicated subject access requests than one involving a parent asking for personal data about their child. This course will deal with this tricky scenario. Keith Savage lives with his wife and five children in a flat in the small town of Langley. Savage has various convictions and is the subject of repeated serious allegations. Both the police and social services have investigated him in the past, and are looking into his behaviour now.

Savage believes that one of his neighbours has reported him to the council, and wants to see all the data related to him. However, he also wants to see data about his children – aged five, seven, nine, eleven and thirteen. Your job is to ensure that Savage gets the data that he is entitled to, while protecting the interests of the kids, his wife and a variety of other people caught up in the case.

The course runs at 2.5 – 3 hours and is fully interactive. There are materials that you will need to read in order to prepare properly for this course. You will need a working microphone to participate, and you can also go on camera if you wish.
